Established in 1981, the Clipper Restaurant has been a single family owned business spanning two generations. A family that immigrated to the United States from Portugal in 1961. It’s been owned and operated by Maria and Clement Raposo for four decades and remains the oldest single family owned Portuguese restaurant in North America.

The foods influence comes primarily from the Azores, the archipelago islands of Portugal in the mid-atlantic. The islands history of pauper style dishes reminiscent of Basque culture is its treasured staple. Every week we serve several of these principal dishes that bring a culinary culture not known by many.
